Most of us have, at least once in our lifetime, played the candy crane game, and many of us have seen on the sign on the front that says, "play until you win." Well, that gave me an idea. I started researching how the machine detects whether you have won or not and have found that it uses an infrared LED sensor and once it no longer receives the signal from the LED (when the candy falls down the chute) it knows that you're a winner and makes you pay again to play. But, what if you bought an infrared LED and shined it at the detector. Wouldn't it keep on thinking that your a loser and letting you keep on playing while you start gathering a pile of candy at the bottom of the machine? I'm skeptical about it working but, why not give it a shot?

How To Build a Cheap and Effective Mixer for the end of a Drill
You could spend anywhere from $10.00- $20.00 on a mixer for the end of you electrical drill or, you could just do what I do. All that you need are three grilling skewers. Then, just put them at the end of the drill, point them in different directions, and then mix. This can be really useful for the, "How to Make a Mold from a Halloween Mask" project.

How To Make A Screwdriver for Your Needs
I have many torx screwdrivers that I will never need and have decided to put them to good use. There is a screw in the Wiimote that requires a triangular screwdriver so I'm just simply going to grind down the edges to make it triangular. I have also needed certain size flat head screwdrivers in the past and have grinded down the torx screwdrivers to make them.

Automatic Room Door Opener
This is a creative idea that would add a nice touch to your DIY home. The basic princible is to have a garage door opener in your attic to open the regular door of your choice. You would probably need to cut the door across in about 1 1/2 foot sections horizontaly and add some door hinges so that it would resemble a garage door. The door would also need a piece of wood connected to the top so that it'll go into the attic. The remote openers could then be placed the the walls on each side of the door in order to open and close the door. Obviously, there is alot more that would be involved in doing this but, its just an idea. Please comment on this if you plan to or have done this.
*UPDATE*
Video of the door in action.
